Happy New Year 2020

8th January 2020

Sunrise at Palm Cove, Cairns on the 1st of January 2020.

With all the tragedy that has been unfolding in Australia I have been finding it hard to type the words “Happy New Year”. For so many there is very little happiness so far in 2020.

I hope all of my customers in the fire effected regions are safe and my thoughts and prayers are with you all. The support shown to those impacted by the fires is a refreshing display of the best of human nature when so often nowadays we mainly get to see the worst.

The above rings were some of the last pieces made in 2019. The engagement ring was a remake of a proposal ring to suit the wedding ring that she designed perfectly. You can read more about my proposal ring method here.

The rings were made in 18ct Palladium white gold. The main diamond is a GIA certified 1.01 carat round brilliant cut in F colour and Si1 clarity. This diamond is what we refer to as a “triple X” in the trade. Cut, polish and symmetry are all the highest GIA grade of “Excellent”.

For me 2020 started with quite a few jobs already booked in. Many of my customers who now live in other parts of Australia were home for Christmas and booked in to have jewellery serviced or new pieces made before returning home.

I would like to thank all my customers for their support during 2019 and wish them all the best for 2020. Hopefully we will get some rain where needed very soon.
