Engagement ring #2 for 2024

1.60 carat oval cut diamond. E colour, VVs2 clarity.
I was contacted by a customer during my holidays to see if I could have an engagement ring ready for him by the end of January prior to him going overseas. To make sure this could happen in time we finalised the design via email and the phone while I was roaming the Tablelands and Chillagoe area on holidays.
The chosen diamond arrived in a couple of days and then the rain came down again here in Far North Queensland. I put a stop to my holidays, returned to Cairns and got back on the bench and made the above ring.
Tulip style setting in 18ct yellow gold.
I have made this tulip style solitaire design a few times before but never with a diamond this size and from memory never before in yellow gold.
